Well I am not really ashamed to say that I LOVE Starbucks!! Living in the Northwest that is easy to do because there is one on pretty much every corner. I will say though that a lot of people are very Anti-Starbucks out here because there are so many small local shops. People in Portland are all about being local...support local...eat local...shop local. I am not saying that is a bad thing! I generally live by those standards as well. Even though I enjoy all the local stuff I LOVE Starbucks!
All of this to say: With the help and idea of my Mom aka Grammy we decided to throw Rylee a Starbucks party. She may be only 3 1/2 at this point but Starbucks was one of her first words. (I know a little crazy right??). I think that is because when ever my Mom and I hang out we would always go there. And since I am a SAHM my little love bug would always come with me. I will tell you that of course Rylee has never had coffee. She just drinks milk and juice and 99% of the time get a fruit cup there.
The main reason we decided to throw her a party is because we worked at earning her a gold card. They have a reward program now that once you earn a gold card (buy 30 items) you then get a special gold card. And from then on if you buy your drinks with the card after 15 drinks you get a free one. Not as good as most local coffee shops. But still for Starbucks that is pretty good! So once we earned one for her my Mom thought it would be fun to have a party for her.
Here is what we did:
- Invited 9 little friends
- bought them all $5 Starbucks gift cards (That way each little kid could buy a drink like Rylee does with their own Starbucks card)
- decorated the table with balloons, necklaces, a little Starbucks cup filled with candy, Starbucks graham cracker snack, and a Starbucks bag to take all the goodies home in.It was pretty crazy once the party got started. But I would say it was a success and all the kids and mommies seemed to think it was fun and cute! And of course my sweet Rylee girl loved it and that is what was most important!
