20 Minute Dress

I am brand new to the sewing world. I am so excited to finally be learning how to sew. My husband has been telling me for years that I should learn. Mostly for the purpose of hemming my pants. I always need them hemmed and ask my mom to do it. When all along I have had a sewing machine in our house for years and years. So finally one day I got inspired to sew. I actually got inspired by looking at this other blog. Her stuff is just so cute I was inspired and I wanted to learn how to do it. Well I can say I am still no where near the spot of doing her kind of stuff. But I am having fun learning and trying new things. Patterns still scare the heeby-geeybez out of me. So I have been sticking to sewing what ever my mind can come up with. That seems easier to me at this point. I know I am going to have to try a pattern someday. But I think I am going to push that out just a little longer. 

Well one day I was at a craft store and I saw a super easy piece of fabric that would be really easy to sew into a dress. So I bought it and some cute ribbon to make some straps. I really loved the print on this dress because we just got Rylee these really cute mini mouse shoes for Disney Land. And she does not have anything in her closet to match the shoes (although my little fashionista can pull any outfit together and make it cute...a real talent I tell ya =)). So I brought it home and literally made a dress in 20 mintues. I know it was super easy but I am still proud of myself that I did it so nicely and so quickly. I am thinking that I will need to keep my eye out for when these kinds of fabrics to go on sale and start making more of these dresses. She loved it and it was fun to make! A win/win for everyone!
